Start of the shift. Time and GPS are stored. If yesterday's shift is still open, the system says so.
The shift
Four states, no paper
Break
Several breaks in a day. Times add up to a total break; nothing is lost between them.
Clock out
Closes the shift and an active break. The daily total stays on the screen.
GPS on the action
Every tap carries coordinates. Outside the department zone is recorded; clock-in is not forbidden.
The zone
The department has a map; the clock does not lock it
The geofence is the department polygon. Tolerance uses GPS accuracy plus fifty metres. A shift over midnight stays open until clock-out.
